Mid-Terms To Be Anti-Israel Referendum? Democrats Setting Sails Accordingly

Will the Stupid Party notice their Youth is leaving?

The invaluable website ZeroHedge staged a debate on Wednesday (September 2 2026) which gave us the key news Dave Smith: “Israel Is On The Ballot And Israel Is About To Deliver Us Socialism”

The “ libertarian Dave Smith” agreeing with his opponent Allen Deshowitz that “Israel is very much on the ballot in many places,” said “Israel is so hated right now that we’re gonna turn to socialism instead.” ZH commented:

The result, according to Smith, will be more Mandamis, more Al Sayeds, and more Ilhan Omars.

ZH commented, adding

There is a strong basis for Smith’s prediction for anyone paying attention. The most anti-Israel wing of Democratic politics overlaps considerably with its socialist wing… Much of this aligns with sentiments on the populist right - minus the socialism. (My emphasis).

(A curiosity: both Dershowitz AND Smith are Jewish.)

Although the ZH debate wandered off in other directions, this last comment is the relevant point. While open anti-Zionism, on the Left, once underreported, is now widely known, the same but less discussed development on the Right threatens to be disastrously influential in the Midterms.

Prominent Democratic Pols, professional as ever, have woken up to how their side feels and are setting their sails accordingly. Thus you have the astonishing spectacle of rising star CT Senator Chris Murphy responding publicly to the question “Why did the United States enter the war?”

(From 0:30) “Israel made us do it....Netanyahu decided to attack and he convinced Trump to join him”

And prominent Senator Chris Van Hollen (MD) responding harshly to foolishly imprudent statements from Israel’s defense minister: Van Hollen Calls for America To End ‘Complicity’ in What He Calls Israel’s ‘Ethnic Cleansing’ of Gaza by Jotam Confino The New York Sun Sept 3, 2026

(Israel’s defense minister, Yisrael Katz, appears in an interview with Ynet/Yedioth Ahronoth on September 2, 2026, in which he said there is no solution for Gaza without the removal of its Palestinian residents - The New York Sun)

Furthermore, the Drudge Report, in its born-again function as bulletin board for the Democratic nomenklatura, has been featuring these and other stories negative to Israel. As has the New York Times. An example which particularly impressed me was These Generals Fought For Israel, Now They See “Jewish Terrorism” As The Main Threat Natan Odenheimer, Ronen Bergman & Azam Ahmed Aug 31 2026.

The word has gone out to the Democrat rank and file: being hostile to Israel is now allowed. They are being ordered to trim their sails!

Predictably, it is not the orthodox Conservativism Inc outlets that have reported the similar eruption of sentiment on the Right. Instead from the “slightly to moderately conservative…strongly pro-Israel“ (per Grok) webzine The Algemeiner we learn

‘This is Not Just a Left Issue—it is an American Issue’: Israel’s Favorability Sees Massive Decline Among US Public, Polls Say by Corey Walker July 27, 2026

…polling indicates that younger Republicans are considerably less supportive of the Jewish state than older members of the party…Pew found that 57 percent of Republicans under 50 now hold an unfavorable opinion of Israel… younger conservatives have shown greater receptiveness to politicians who…question the traditional US-Israel relationship.”

This momentous article deserves reading in full. More:

CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said “These are some absolutely huge, mammoth changes, generational changes that we’re talking about. “I think there are a lot of Republicans [who think], ‘Oh, we’ll be able to run against these anti-Israeli Democrats” [But] the general electorate no longer differs as dramatically from the Democratic base as Republicans may assume. “The general electorate has turned against Israel. This is not just a left issue. It’s an American issue. The trend line is unbelievable.” (My emphasis.)

CBS News Gauleiter Bari Weis publicized in her personal megaphone The Free Press on August 8, 2026, under the head How My Generation Became Antisemitic a version of a Substack piece apparently by a highschooler, Leo Lewis: The Rise of Youth Antisemitism The Hill of Spring Jul 15, 2026,

This article focuses on a mainly right-wing phenomenon of youth antisemitism…It’s a strain of antisemitism based on conspiracy theories, jokes, and social media... Among young men and teenage boys, it’s shockingly widespread… And this phenomenon is starting to metastasize into an insurgent right-wing political movement that threatens to make the Republican Party the second to be consumed by Jew-hatred as an organizing principle.

Remember, GOP Pols, the voting age is 18.

People (i.e. men) on the Right do not affect tender mindedness. So probably not many have looked deeply enough into Israel’s recent activities in neighboring areas to be moved by the atrocities wrought.

But they are keenly aware that war with Iran was not what they voted for. And they agree with what the U.S. troops apparently think: ‘Do What Israel Tells You!’ - Graffiti On USAF Jet Suggests Troops Think War Isn’t For America by Tyler Durden ZeroHedge Tuesday, Aug 18, 2026

(Graffiti scrawled on USAF military aircraft flap - ZH)

This is leading to an alarming possibility: single-issue anti-Zionist voting in the mid-terms. Voters who might balk at electing another Border-Opening Biden-type President could well feel free to express their anger in the mid-terms which they might think a less important level.

Highly intelligent Influencers on the Right have been arguing this way. See The “D-Vote Pass” by Greg Johnson The New Nationalism Aug 28, 2026

To my knowledge, the only GOP candidate showing even the slightest consciousness of this disaffection has been Mike Rogers, running against the anti-White Muslim Abdul El-Sayed. And all he seems to have done is ask AIPAC to disguise the flood of money it is longing to unleash: Mike Rogers-AIPAC rupture roils Michigan Senate race by Alex Isenstadt Axios Aug 22, 2026.

Of course, the best thing for the GOP would be for President Trump to declare victory and shut the whole Iranian thing down. The screams of rage from Israel would be worth millions in campaign contributions! And, as I have said before, I believe history shows that party supporters are quite tolerant of major defeats, providing they feel the effort in question, right or wrong, was sincerely managed in their best interests.

Failing that, Republican candidates need to go into emergency mode. Otherwise they likely to find a sizable swathe of their normal potential supporters, especially young ones, voting for crazy Left Democrats in protest against America’s indisputable subservience to a lethally dangerous foreign country.

Getting publicity for such adjustments will be difficult. The MSM will repress this change, just as they will repress the extreme anti- White leftism of many Democrats. But the Right social media influencers can help. This is not 1992 when Pat Buchanan could be buried.

A good first step for Congressmen would be to co-sponsor H.R. 3565 “To provide for a limitation on the transfer of defense articles and defense services to Israel”. More than a third of House Democrats have signed but only one Republican –- the true American Original Thomas Massie (KY4).

Desperate times, desperate measures.
